Oh These Days

Mom: Would you rather be a polar bear or a penguin?

Joe: I would rather be a polar bear because they are highest on the food chain and so they won't go extinct.

Judah: Help! Peeling this orange is hurting my toenails!

Much to Titus's disappointment, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang won by 3-1 in a vote against Lord of the Rings for Family Movie night. Joe backed mom up stating, "This will be less intense for us."

The kids continue to suffer on and off with snotty noses and colds. They do experience sudden bursts of health when dessert is being handed out, declaring whole heartedly that they feel healthy (and trying to stifle their coughs and hide their runny noses). Mom only wishes the temptation of dessert had such quick results to bring her healing.

 Joe is continuing to grow in his reading abilities, occasionally to his mother's dismay. When a board game was left on the dining room table from the night before Joe continued to press her for the correct pronunciation for a-s-s. Smart Ass is a fun game, but now certain members of the Hug household question it's title.

Asher is now referred to as "Habberschtock" this name, like all names in Bear Language, has unknown origins, but is thought to be derived from its german sounding toughness and the fact that Asher is as likely to head butt you as he is to come and give a you a cozy snuggle. He is highly likely to do both.

Titus, has been the super hero of the house in these days of illness. In what some have deemed an act of God, he has fully embraced domestic duties and even swept under couches and mopped the kitchen floor. That may be some indicator of how dire the times have been in the Hug corridors. He has also been caring for children, providing food for the family, and massaging  his pitiful wife and brining her water. We are hoping that these dark days of illness come to a quick close in the Hug Family, in the meantime all give thanks for Dad. (Who is himself looking forward to getting back to work so he can get some rest.)
