Memorial Day Weekend.

Titus rented the most horrible movie from the red box, so I am trying to escape. The movie is so horrible it almost made me vomit up my ice cream. That is just wrong. It is some kind of end of the world scenario where a father is considering how he will kill his son and everyone is just trying to avoid cannibalism.

Today we were playing an animal guessing game, where we took turns thinking of an animal. Titus and I were guessing up a storm until Joe' stumped us with this answer : it has three legs. Apparently it was some sort of three legged dinosaur.

It was really fun camping with the boys this Memorial Day. Joe is so much fun. When he torched his marshmallow to a blackened charcoal like substance he said , "It's a little brown." and happily munched it down. Camping was a big success even though roughly half of our crew ended up vomiting on the trip. Gus got car sick on our way over. That was not fun. The first leg of our journey found us cleaning up doggie diarrhea from all over Gus's kennel and Gus. Then we got back in the RV and headed onward only to have him vomit all over. We had already dealt with poo and vomit, before even reaching the state line. When we arrived at our campsite, amidst pouring rain, we also discovered that Titus had not properly winterized the rv and the hot water tank exploded causing a flood inside the rv when we turned the water on. There was also a leak in the roof.
It was a cold, rainy weekend, but we had a lot of fun. Judah got a high fever on the second night but I prayed over him and Titus rode his bike into town to get him Tylenol. (What kind of mom goes into the woods with no children's Tylenol!) After vomiting all over during family movie night (Did I mention that it is handy to have an RV during a rainy camping trip?) he was much better the next day. Overall, we had a great family bonding time. Judah is old enough now to enjoy the experience including roasting marshmallows and wandering around the campsite. I learned that building a fire is harder than it looks. I finally built a fire. It only took me an entire Golf magazine, a cardboard box, a half container of matches, some random wood scraps, paper towels, and a flame thrower. Then it still went out after 5 minutes and Titus had to come resuscitate it. It never ceases to amaze me how whole forests can burn down unintentionally, but one woman with a stack of dry, flammable materials and a flame thrower can't get a good blaze going.
